Performed the National Anthem of the Republic of Cyprus and the Anthem of Europe at the Opening Ceremony of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2026

With great honor and deep emotion, soprano Mariza Anastasiades performed the National Anthem of the Republic of Cyprus and the Anthem of Europe (Ode to Joy) by Ludwig van Beethoven at the official opening ceremony of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The ceremony took place at the Theatre of the Cyprus Theatre Organisation in Nicosia, in the presence of high-ranking state and European officials, diplomatic delegations, and representatives of the cultural sector.

Her performance marked a moment of strong symbolic significance, conveying messages of unity, peace, and shared European values.
